The Joint-School Orienteering Experience
La Salle College+Belilios Public School

This year, the La Salle College Orienteering Club and the Belilios Public School Orienteering Club are going to jointly organize a joint-school orienteering program for all orienteers of both schools. The program would last for 3 weeks, all functions of the program would be held on Sundays. \

Dates of various parts of the program are as follows:

Orienteering Competition & Barbeque

This 3-week training program features friend making, fun, excitement, a more enjoyable orienteering experience and a more interesting path for beginners to approach orienteering and for veterans to improve.
The orientation day aims to provide an opportunity for orienteers to know each other and to make friends by playing games and working together as a team with newly made friends, since they will always meet and compete against each other in competitions. They may also be great life-long friends after they graduate, because friendship is always important.
The Technical training aims to improve the overall skill of all orienteers by doing various orienteering drills and exercises. They would be split into groups according to they’re skill levels for skills improvement trainings, then they would have a team event to complete in the teams they’ve already been put into on the orientation day.
Lastly, the orienteering competition features individual and team competitions. They would have to work in teams to complete courses with the shortest amount of time with team work as the essentials of winning. It would be a great experience for orienteers since it is a very unique way of doing orienteering. After the competition, a barbeque meal would be provided for participants to have fun while remembering their memories in the program before they bid farewell.

*Teams would be given marks according to their performance in each of the days in the program, the team with the highest score will win special prizes. Certificates would be awarded to all participants and special certificates would also be awarded to outstanding participants*

Application Fee: $100 per person (includes transportation, barbeque, maps, coaching fees, props, certificates and an unforgettable experience)

Orienteering Shoe Ordering
Professional metal studded orienteering shoes ordering would also be provided to participants. Since the manufacturer in Finland has not yet confirmed the prizes yet, therefore payment is not required yet. But they are expected to cost $600, please also express your interest in the reply slip if applicable.

Application for upcoming events

3 Orienteering races will be held soon and the deadlines are approaching,pls follow the listed methods in order to apply for the 3 races.

1-Hong Kong Youth Orienteering Championship (ELITE)
This competition will be held on 25/12. Only those who have achieved top 20 in A,B,C grade in the Inter-School Orienteering Championship (Kowloon Region) can attend. Pls go to 4E classroom during recess and approach Lau Chun Yin Kavika for application forms. Deadline would be on 28/11,pls handin the forms during recess to Kavika before the date of the deadline.

2-Hong Kong Youth Orienteering Championship (OPEN)
The Open group for the YOC will also be held on 25/12. It is open to all students, including those who did not achieve top 20 in the kowloon region event or for those who did not attend it.Pls go to 4F classroom during recess and approach Chow Chi Shing for application forms. Deadline would also be on 28/11,pls handin the forms during recess to Chow Chi Shing before the date of the deadline.Pls logon to http://www.oahk.org.hk/ for more information.

3-Hong Kong Orienteering Club Championship
This is a competition held by the Hong Kong Orienteering Club. Pls scroll down to see other information and details. We highly encourage members to attend the competition. Pls go to 4G classroom during recess and approach Conrad Pao for application. Pls prepare the listed information required in the application form, members can either hand in their own forms or fill in the one of the club,remember to include the discount in price due to the club's group application.Deadline of this application would be on 1/12/08.
